Royal British Legion External Grants

| Return

The Royal British Legion (RBL), through its External Grants Scheme, provides funding for not-for-profit organisations in the UK running, or planning, charitable activities in support of the Armed Forces community.

Projects that fall within the following areas will be prioritised:

  • Employment and training.

  • Family support.

  • Homelessness and outreach.

  • Supporting the elderly.

Grants for service delivery projects are not likely to exceed £50,000. Smaller grant applications are encouraged.

The RBL is not inviting applications for multi-year funding at this time and most grants run for up to 12 months. Continuation funding may be applied for towards the end of a live grant award.

How To Apply

The External Grants programme is closed to applications. The Royal British Legion is currently reviewing the funding priorities of the External Grants programme. It is expected that applications will re-open, but a date has not been set.

There is a two-stage application process for service delivery applications. Stage One application forms are available to complete via the RBL's online portal. Those who are successful at Stage One will be invited to submit a Stage Two application form.
