Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website

Geovation Accelerator Supporting Technology Innovators - Spring Intake Opens

The Geovation Hub is London's digital district data lab, supporting creative professionals who wish to experiment with location information and technology.

The aim of the Geovation Accelerator Programme is to help UK-based start-up entrepreneurs develop and launch innovative new prototype ideas that relate to location information or technology. There are two strands:

  • The PropTech Programme supports innovative technology businesses to revolutionise the property industry using property and geospatial data.

  • The GeoTech Programme is an open call for any tech company creating location-based products and services.

A grant of £20,000 for 12 months is available, along with workshops, masterclasses and up to 1,000 hours of software engineering resource in exchange for share options.

This year also sees the continuation of Geovation Scotland – a start-up accelerator for developers, innovators and entrepreneurs seeking to create a business using location or property data in Scotland. Applications for this strand are invited from either PropTech or GeoTech start-ups. Support includes up to £15,000 grant funding and expert advice from industry leaders.

Applications for the spring intake are open until 24 February 2020.
