The Aesthetica Art Prize was created to support the next generation of talent across new visual media. It welcomes both established and emerging practitioners to submit pieces on any theme, celebrating innovative works from a range of media. However, the funder is particularly interested in works that reflect upon the ever changing world.
Winning pieces should reflect upon both social and political structures, questioning the value they place on the planet and society.
The following awards are open to entry:
Main Prize - open to all practitioners working at any level, including students. Prizes include £5,000 prize for the winner and publication in the Future Now: 100 Contemporary Artists.
Emerging Prize - open to students and graduates from the last two years. Prizes include £1,000 prize money for the winner and editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine.
The prize is open to both UK and international arts practitioners working at any level. There are no limitations on age. The sponsor accepts work from any discipline, on any theme.
The 2022 Art Prize has just been launched with a deadline for applications of 6 September 2021.
Applications are made online.
The Judging Panel will select artworks based on a set of selection criteria. In total, 100 artists will be longlisted for the Art Prize Anthology, out of which a smaller selected will then be shortlisted and invited to participate in the Art Prize Exhibition. Two winners will be chosen, one from the Main Prize and one from the Emerging Prize.
