Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Resilience Funding for Women’s Organisations in England

A new £2.1 million Fund has been launched for voluntary and community sector organisations in England that are supporting women whose poverty has been exacerbated by the coronavirus crisis or those who have been pushed into new poverty and financial hardship.

Grants of between £20,000 and £30,000 will be awarded to organisations that are:

  • Supporting women who experience disproportionate challenge and difficulty as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

  • Providing services and support for vulnerable women, for which there will be increased demand as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

  • Connecting communities and support communities to work together to respond to the pandemic.

Organisations must have an annual income of less than £1 million to be eligible. Priority will be given to organisations in areas that have been most affected by the coronavirus and those that are working with the following key client groups:

  • BAME women.

  • Women with disabilities.

  • LGBT+ women who are financially vulnerable.

  • Women who have experienced domestic violence, economic abuse or sexual abuse.

  • Economically inactive young women.

  • Carers and those who have been working in the caring professions.

  • Single parent families.

  • Women who experience depression, anxiety and other mental health needs.

  • Women leaving the criminal justice system.

The grants can be used for the following costs:

  • Staff salaries.

  • Project running costs.

  • Running costs/overheads.

  • Goods and equipment to support adaption of frontline services.

Applications are assessed on a rolling basis. Organisations are advised to apply as soon as possible.
