Grants are available for organisations who support individuals suffering from mental health issues and who focus on research in the mental health field.

The Gamesys Foundation is an independent charity organisation created and funded by Gamesys Group.

Objectives of Fund

The main focus of the Foundation is on providing grants and funding to organisations to preserve and protect the wellbeing of individuals suffering from mental health issues.

Value Notes

Funding is at the discretion of the Foundation.

Who Can Apply

Applications are open to UK-based organisations with a minimum annual income of £50,000, who care for individuals suffering from mental health issues, or who focus on research in the mental health field.

The Foundation predominantly fund registered charities and NGOs, however they will consider funding other types of organisation so long as they can be proven to have an impact with regard to mental health issues, support, and treatment.

Applicant organisations will be asked to clearly outline their social purpose and to demonstrate that all profits and assets are used to support that purpose.

Applicants will also be asked to provide a copy of their governing documents.


United Kingdom


The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Organisations dealing with physical health care, research, treatment, or rehabilitation (eg, cancer research and treatment, heart disease, dementia, epilepsy etc.).

  • Applications relating to sports (eg, sports scholarships, sponsorship, or sporting events).

  • Organisations or activities which spread religious views or attempt to convert people towards particular religious beliefs.

  • Organisations or activities which adopt a partisan political stance, or which are party political.

  • Organisations that advocate the use of violence to campaign or influence public opinion.

  • One-off conferences or workshops even within the mental health field (funding can be still be used for conferences, workshops and other gatherings so long as they form part of longer-term projects).

  • Appeals for the funding of study or the attainment of qualifications, whether by an individual or group sponsorship.

  • Organisations or activities focussed solely or primarily on raising public awareness of mental health issues via marketing campaigns (funding can still be used for such campaigns as part of larger scale projects).

  • Services that fall under the government’s responsibility (exceptions may be made where specific services are not in place or are not available to a certain community).

Eligible Expenditure

Grants are intended to support the activities of organisations that are:

  • Mission aligned – share the Foundation’s aspiration of alleviating mental health issues (including addiction, conditions of emotional or mental distress, issues caused by social isolation, homelessness, bereavement, and suicide).

  • Understanding of who the Foundation are.

  • Risk aware – have robust governance and financial management in place, with high standards in safeguarding their staff and beneficiaries.

  • Learning led – have a culture which values evidence, are committed to continual improvement, and share what they learn with others.

  • Storytellers – will tell compelling stories to shed light on mental health issues and remove the stigma attached to mental illness.
